I was a sari x GUCCI

I designed the packaging for the I was a sari x Gucci Equilibrium collaboration, where I Was a Sari made bags from upcycled saris for Gucci's global staff holiday gifts. Since each bag used a different mix of sari prints, the packaging needed to reflect that variation while still telling the story of the collaboration. A front window and handle cutouts were designed to reveal exactly which two prints were paired on each bag, letting the packaging speak to the individuality of every piece. The design also solved a functional problem- the bag's own handles thread through the packaging, allowing it to be carried securely without the packaging needing handles of its own.
